Eddie Jones leads CBRE All Schools training session
CBRE All Schools treated at Varsity Match
England Head Coach Eddie Jones was on hand at the 2016 Varsity Match to lead training sessions for children from across the country including Baxter College, part of the CBRE All Schools programme.
With the support of CBRE Volunteers from both our London and Bristol offices, Eddie ran Baxter School through a number of training exercises and worked with them to hone their passing and tactical skills.
Baxter School, who joined in 2015 during the time of the Rugby World Cup have seen the difference CBRE All Schools has made for their students and the school. Most students would never have believed that they would be given the opportunity to work with England’s Head Coach.
“We train every week with our local RFU Coaches both in schools sessions and after school clubs. The kids really get involved and are enthused. It’s all about offering opportunities to our students and today is an example of the doors CBRE All Schools opens.”
Eddie is clear to share the importance of supporting the grassroots game, “The National Team doesn’t happen unless the grassroots does well.”
“The kids are having a great time, passing, running and enjoying themselves. We all started as kids learning to play the game and learning to love the game. If we can give these kids good experiences, they are hopefully going to play for a long time,” says Eddie Jones.
Chris Thomas, Bristol who has been instrumental in placing the Bristol Volunteers into coaching and refereeing roles supported the running of the coaching session at the Varsity Game.
“It was great to see Eddie in action and watching our CBRE All Schools students use the coaching to immediately improve their game. I am delighted to support our local schools in Bristol through teaching rugby and we now have a strong volunteer squad in our region working both within the school hours and at local clubs and festivals. Having our new CBRE All Schools jackets helps us feel part of team and we are looking forward to getting stuck in after Christmas.”
Thanks to the success of CBRE staff to date and the positive impact the programme is having on school children across the country, CBRE is now seeking more fantastic volunteers able to give up some of their time to make a huge difference to young people’s lives.
